Yakitori Yakyudori

Yakitori Yakyudori
Convoy Street, Kearney Mesa
San Diego, California
Masters of Their Realm.
These boys are not messing around.
Guy with the hat, I believe his name is Tatto, is the Grill Master.
He is the man at the grill whose job it is to, season, monitor and rotate all the skewers.
Each and every skewer is individually seasoned with salt and grilled to absolute perfection.
Spicy Tuna Tar Tar
Insanely Delicious. Melted in my mouth.
The bottom of the bowl had some spice filled juice dregs, I drank it.
Bara
Pork
Just slightly crunchy on the edges, mostly juicy and delicious.
Quite possibly the Single Greatest Skewer of Pork on Planet Earth
Salty, sweet, savory, juicy, & tender.
The salt and fat create an amazing alchemical transformation
which transmogrifies into some sort of Pork of the Gods.
A thing of beauty. Amazing flavor. With Grilled Green Onion.
Harami
Beef
Melts in your mouth. They just grill it perfectly. Red meat awesomeness.
Asparagus Bacon
Pretty much everything is better with bacon.
Especially vegetables.
With an aioli dipping sauce on the side.
The bacon was not crispy and not overpowering.
I am pretty much a fan of bacon on anything.
Asparagus is soft and grilled to perfection.
Chicken Negima
Thigh with Green Onions
Chicken is too often overcooked and dry, this was neither.
Like everything else at Yakyudori, grilled to perfection.
Some of the tastiest, most delicious succulent chicken I have ever had the pleasure of eating.
Geso
Squid Tentacle
Skewer dipped in a sweet dark mystery sauce.
Same sauce as beef. Slightly chewy. Mostly delicious.
Gyu Oroshi
Beef, Grated Radish, Ponzu Sauce
I believe this was the same slices of beef as the Harami, just with a stack of grated radish on it.
Just in case

  2. I went to the restaurant Saturday night with my husband and some friends………loved it!!! We had so many dishes , can’t even name them all. The only one that I didn’t like was the Natto (fermented Mung beans….don’t recommend this unless you’ve eaten them all your life). Just didn’t realize how small a place it was. Thanks for the lead, will be going back.
